How we are organised

Gosforth Amateur Dramatic Society is run by an Executive Committee, elected at the AGM, which is usually held during the first week of May each year.

Our most recent AGM was held on Fri 8 May 2026, 7pm at the Kellbank in Gosforth

The Executive Committee
The Executive Committee looks after the general administration of the society’s affairs and finances. It consists of the president, chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer and a minimum of four ordinary members. All posts are honorary and only the elected members have voting rights. Additional members are co-opted as required. One member is nominated to represent the Society at the Public Hall Management Committee.

The Reading Committee
We used to have a Reading Committee to select plays, pantomimes and their Directors. In recent years, this has been better achieved by other means including via our very popular “Plays for Pleasure” reading group. The Reading Committee itelf is no longer operational.
