Alison has been a member of GADS since 2015, taking on a wide range of roles including Nancy (Oliver!), Fiona (Shrek the Musical), Faye (Sheila’s Island), an Oz Guard (The Wizard of Oz) and the Landlady (Two). Alongside performing, she has developed her skills as an Assistant Director, Musical Director and Director, recently leading Shrek the Musical.

Treasurer
Jim Polmear

Jim joined GADS around 2003 and has been Treasurer ever since. Over the years he has helped with set construction, props, scenery, lights, sound, stage hand, stage manager, box office and tickets – pretty much everything except acting and directing. He also looks after the GADS archive with decades of programmes and photographs.

Youth Theatre Lead
Clare Temple

Clare is a long-standing member of GADS and has been part of many performances over the years, from the back end of a camel to the Wicked Witch of the West. She has a diploma in Dance, Drama and Technical Theatre and currently leads our Youth Theatre.

Safeguarding Lead
Benita Blacklock

Benita’s first appearance for GADS was in Alice in Wonderland in 2019 playing the Mad Hatter (a part she was well suited to!). She has been involved in amateur theatre for more years than she cares to admit, both as an actor and a director. She directed the award-winning production of Two in October 2025.

James Nuttall

James joined GADS in 2025, getting on stage for the first time since his school days to perform as Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical. Since then, he’s been an active member of GADS.
