How do I join GADS?

Our success relies on a substantial support network. Even if acting or singing isn’t your preference, there are many other ways you can contribute and be helpful by utilising your unique skills. We are always looking for enthusiastic members to join our team and assist with various backstage roles.

By joining our amateur dramatic society, you’ll be contributing to the success of our productions and gaining valuable experience in theatre production. We welcome individuals with all levels of experience and a passion for theatre. Your involvement, no matter how big or small, is vital to our continued success.

Areas Where You Can Help:

Backstage Crew: Assist with scene changes, props management, and ensuring smooth transitions during performances.

Lighting: Help design and operate the lighting equipment to create the perfect atmosphere for each scene.

Sound: Manage sound effects and microphones, ensuring clear audio for all performances.

Costumes: Assist with costume design, fittings, and alterations to ensure every performer looks their best.

Dressing: Help actors with quick changes and make sure they are ready to go on stage promptly.

Set Design: Contribute to the conceptualisation and creation of the stage sets to bring our productions to life.

Scenery Building: Help construct the physical sets, ensuring they are safe and visually appealing.

Property Making: Create and manage the props needed for each production, adding to the authenticity of the performance.

Scene Painting: Bring our sets to life with detailed and artistic scene painting.

Chaperoning: Supervise and support our younger performers, ensuring their safety and well-being during rehearsals and performances.

Hairdressing: Style the actors’ hair to fit their characters and the period of the production.

Makeup: Apply makeup to actors, helping them to fully embody their roles.

Publicity: Help promote our productions through various media channels to attract audiences and support.
